  1. I’ve discovered your blog today and read some of your entries. I’m amazed, seriously. You’re a natural at blogging and your experiences feel so real to me, as if you were having a conversation with the reader. I cannot express how thankful I am that you decided to share your experiences. I would wish you luck but honestly I don’t think you need it. I can tell you’re strong and are going to be just fine. You will have some bad days and it’s going to be tough but you’ll make it. “I got through today so I can through tomorrow. “, I’ll never forget this sentence, you are so right. Thank you for existing, you are one brave soul and I don’t need to know you personally to know I’m right.

      1. No need to thank me, just speaking my mind! I hope you continue to do mental health awareness (I found your website through Mind) because you’re making a real difference. People think they need to do grand gestures to help others but simple things have as much real impact. You have made me feel better today and taught me something new and for that I’m forever thankful. Sending you much love 😉

  3. Hey Claire, I just wanted to get in touch to say I saw your talk at Ignite and thought it was very helpful in breaking down the stigma of mental ill health. The fact that you stood up and spoke candidly about your battle with anorexia and highlighted that it is a mental illness and not a lifestyle choice was so important in educating the public about this condition. It’s great to hear you’re enjoying and living a meaningful life now – wishing you the best for everything, inspirational lady!

      1. Aww, you’re welcome 🙂 It’s good to hear you’re living alongside it – as you said ‘you have it, rather than it having you’. I have bipolar and think that living alongside it is a helpful way to look at it – it’s always going to be there but it’s not all of me…by a long way! Anyway, I’m enjoying your blog & looking forward to seeing more. Keep at it 🙂

  4. Hi Claire,

My name is Mary and I am a journalism student in my final year of university. I am writing up my final year projects and creating a site (on here).

I am writing for my blog about social media and how it affects our mental health, however I am making an article linking to several blogs that talk openly about mental health and their past so people can read them if they wish.

I would love to link to your blog. Also, if you have time, would you be able to give me a quick quote about how social media has impacted your life (good or bad)?

    Thank you,

    Mary Holding

  5. Hello

Thank you for helping raise awareness of mental health conditions, and speaking out about issues that have an impact on you.

I am a mental health blogger, who has recently embarked on a social media campaign to help raise money for two charities that have been remarkable in aiding my recovery of Anorexia Nervosa- Mind Charity and SEED Eating Disorders Support Service.

The details of the campaign can be found on my blog, and I would be honoured if you would give it a read.

    Thank you!

  6. Hi Claire,

I manage a mental health blog in Australia, and we’re looking to share authentic first-person views on the Christmas period.

Would you be happy for us to republish your blog ‘Christmas with a mental illness’ (https://mentalillnesstalk.wordpress.com/2014/11/26/christmas-with-a-mental-illness/) in late December?

An example would be this recent blog by American blogger Taylor Jones (https://www.sane.org/media-centre/the-sane-blog/1924-you-aren-t-possessed-you-are-actually-sick & https://www.facebook.com/saneaustralia/posts/10153845012797581).

We ensure your by-line and bio are included, along with a link to the original post and any social media account you would like to be promoted.

Kind regards & looking forward to your response,

    Jeremy
